Queen could be set to release new music for the first time in almost 30 years, according to Roger Taylor.

The band have not released new music since their posthumous studio record, ‘Made In Heaven’, which arrived in 1995 following the death of frontman Freddie Mercury in 1991

Queen began performing again in 2004 with Paul Rodgers as lead singer, before Adam Lambert took over the role in 2011, with Lambert playing with the group at their recent ‘Rhapsody Tour’, which finished in Tokyo last February.

New music from Queen on the way – Taylor

In a new interview, Roger Taylor has hinted that new music from Queen could be on the horizon.

“I think we might”, Taylor said.

He added, “Brian [May] and myself were talking the other day, and we both said that if we feel we have some good material, why not? We can still play. We can still sing. So I don’t see why not”.

Back in July, Queen’s guitarist Brian May claimed that Adam Lambert “blows my mind” by taking classic Queen tracks to places he never expected.

“Adam brings fresh views on things,” May said. “He’s not afraid to say, ‘why don’t we try it this way or that way?’ so the songs are not fossils. They’re alive and evolving with Adam, which is great, and sometimes he blows my mind”.
