Roger Waters has voiced his opinion on Radiohead’s controversial upcoming Israel Show in Tel Aviv.

Radiohead, who are due to play in the Israeli City this Wednesday, have been criticized for their plan to go ahead and play the upcoming gig. Artists for Palestine UK recently wrote to the band in an open letter. The group asked the band to “think again” before playing the show. The group, which includes Roger Waters, Thurston Moore and Young Fathers have been very vocal about their cultural boycott of the country and have had some dialogue with Radiohead over the last few months regarding the show.

Speaking recently during an hour long Facebook Live chat with the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement, Waters addressed Radiohead’s upcoming show in Tel Aviv, “We should observe the picket line. Anybody who’s tempted to do that, like our friends in Radiohead, if only they would actually educate themselves.”

The musician then addressed Thom York directly, “Well Thom, you shouldn’t feel insulted because if you did know what’s going on, you would have a conversation with [director] Ken Loach, who’s been begging you to have a conversation, or with me, I begged you, Thom.”

Yorke was recently involved in a Twitter incident with Ken Loach after Loach asked Yorke if he would “stand with the oppressed or the oppressor.”

However, the band have also had some support for their decision to perform the show in Tel Aviv. In a recent instagram post, R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe said “I stand with Radiohead and their decision to perform. Let’s hope a dialogue continues, helping to bring the occupation to an end and lead to a peaceful solution. Sincerely, Michael Stipe”
