Making his first live appearance since 2013 Roger Waters headlined the Newport Folk Festival last Friday night.

The all-acoustic performance included solo material, including new song “Crystal Clear”, Pink Floyd classics and a very appropriate cover of Bob Dylan’s 'Forever Young'. This year’s festival marks fifty years since Dylan’s historic full band electric set at the festival. Waters began the set with the new track saying "For the first time ever in public, I’m going to playarrow the piano and sing a song”. He is rumoured to be working on a new solo album which will be his first since "Amused to Death", released in 1992.

Waters was joined on stage by psychedelic rockers My Morning Jacket for performances of the iconic Pink Floyd tracksarrow “Wish You Were Here” and “Eclipse”.  My Morning Jacket’s appearance was only announced that morning during their own set. My Motning Jacket will be playing at this year's Electric Picnic festival in Stradbally, Co. Laois.

The festival took place in Newport’s Ford Adams Statearrow Park between July 24th and 26th and has been running since 1959. Other notable acts at the festival were Shakey Graves, The Lone Bellows and The Tallest Man on Earth.
