The Rolling Stones have announced that they will be releasing a 50th anniversary edition of ‘Beggars Banquet’ on the 16th of November, and we are BUZZING.
The release of ‘Beggars Banquet’ in 1968 marked the beginning of what is considered to be the bands most prolific album era. The album features the group’s original lineup, comprised of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts. ‘Beggars Banquet’ peaked at number three in England and hit number five on the ‘Billboard 200’ albums upon it’s initial release.
Scheduled to be released on the 16th of November, the 50th anniversary set will feature a remastered version of ‘Beggars Banquet’ on CD and 180-gram LP, as well as a rare 1986 telephone interview of Mick Jagger promoting the album to the Japanese market. In addition to this, ‘Sympathy for the Devil (One Plus One)’, a documentary based on the recording of the epic track ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ will be available on blu-ray, DVD and digital platforms on the 5th of October. The set also includes exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the documentary ‘Voices’, interviews with the production team, as well as a new commentary track and essay by Danny Goldberg.
The CD/digital tracklist for the 50th Anniversary Edition of ‘Beggars Banquet’ includes:
- Sympathy for the Devil
- No Expectations
- Dear Doctor
- Parachute Woman
- Jigsaw Puzzle
- Street Fighting Man
