Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has revealed in a new interview why the band did not enlist former Cream drummer Ginger Baker to play on the new Sabbath album, 13, after the group could not come to terms with original drummer Bill Ward.tony-iommi-eurovision

Iommi explained to Willamette Week, "Rick (Rubin, producer) suggested Ginger Baker, which we put a stop on. We didn't think Ginger Baker would have been . . . we didn't want to go in the studio and have, um, problems. And we did try some big-name drummers, some very big-name drummers."

Among those drummers was reportedly Carl Palmer, although the group eventually went with Brad Wilk from Rage Against The Machine.
Iommi called Wilk "a really nice guy. He did work hard . . . and then he got used to us. He got used to our jokes, the way we prank around."
