The cast of Sam Mendes' upcoming Beatles documentary has chosen, according to reports.
Sam Mendes has reportedly chosen his actors to portray the roles of each bandmember of the Fab Four.
Mendes first confirmed the upcoming release of each biopic, which was to tell the story from the perspective of each Beatle, back in February.
These biopics are set to “tell the story of the greatest band in history”, via Sony Pictures Entertainment.
According to media outlets, Aftersun star Paul Mescal is set to play the role of Paul McCartney in these Sam Mendes directed biopics, with fellow Irish actor Barry Keoghan set to star as Ringo Starr.
It also emerged that Harris Dickinson will portray the role of the late John Lennon, with George Harrison to be played by Charlie Rowe.
At the time of writing, Sony had not confirmed or denied these rumours.
Back in February, the Beatles has also stated that “the dating cadence of the films, the details of which will be shared closer to release, will be innovative and groundbreaking”.
Sam Mendes also added this: “I’m honoured to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies”.
Mendes' production partner Pippa Harris also released this statement.
“We intend this to be a uniquely thrilling, and epic cinematic experience: four films, told from four different perspectives which tell a single story about the most celebrated band of all time”, she said.
She also added: “To have The Beatles’ and Apple Corps’ blessing to do this is an immense privilege. From our first meeting with Tom Rothman and Elizabeth Gabler, it was clear that they shared both our passion and ambition for this project, and we can’t think of a more perfect home than Sony Pictures”.
