Scissor Sisters have announced a huge 2025 UK and Ireland anniversary tour of their self-titled debut album.
The band will return to the stage, reuniting for the first time in more than a decade, with a string of tour dates across the UK and Ireland.
This tour will see the band perform their debut album ‘Scissor Sisters’ in full for the first time, in honour of the album’s 20th anniversary. They will also perform tracks from other albums including: (2006’s ‘Ta-Dah’, 2010’s ‘Night Work’ and 2012’s ‘Magic Hour’).
Along with UK tour dates, Scissor Sisters will be coming to Dublin’s 3Arena on May 28 next year, as part of this tour.
“intense excitement”
Scissor Sisters’ comeback tour will see Jake Shears, Babydaddy and Del Marquis return to the stage. However, vocalist Ana Matronic will not join the line, due to other commitments.
In a press release, Jake Shears has revealed that this upcoming tour was inspired by a lockdown screening of their 2007 concert film, Scissor Sisters: Live at the 02.
“It’s the 20th anniversary of our debut album, so it really feels like the right time to revisit all the intense excitement of that moment. I don’t think I’d seen that show since it was filmed in 2007, but we were all kind of surprised by how great it was. And chatting with fans during the screening really brought back what a special moment it was for all of us”, Shears said.
Babydaddy also added: “There’s something really special about us being a gay band, a queer band, who really pushed into the mainstream with that album. We want to revisit that because there weren’t as many queer acts breaking through in that way 20 years ago. We do acknowledge that we did something pretty unique back then just by putting ourselves out there as queer people. We put queer culture in the mainstream at a time when there wasn’t much of it there”.
Tickets will go up for presale on November 6 at 9am, before going for general sale on November 8 at the same time via this link.
