Festivals this Weekend
Sea sessions
Stuck for a lift to Sea Sessions (today June 23rd-Sunday25th)? Check out Bus Eireann’s special services here for the fest weekend. There’s a crackin’ line-up which includes: Primal Scream, The Coronas, and Otherkin amongst many more. With surfing, skating, music and fun, there is something to suit all ages and tastes at the Bundoran fest. Body & Soul
Once again put a contemporary twist on the Summer Solstice celebration, Body&Soul 2017 offers a bizarre and beautiful banquet of sumptuous surprises for discerning music, performance and art fans at Ballinlough Castle in Co. Westmeath (today, June 23rd-Sunday 25th Tickets €65/€195.
Friday 23rd
Comedy
For a few laughs head over to Chaplin Bar’s Comedy night in the City centre. Taking the stage are Aidan Bishop, John Colleary, Tommy Nicholson and M.C. Simon O’Keeffe. Tickets €10. From 8.15pm
Something a Bit Different
A Midsummer Night’s Murder: The Dining Experience. A troupe of professional actors interact with guests throughout a three course meal, revealing clues leading to the identity of the killer in this dining game of whodunnit. Tickets €49.50. From 8pm. At the Civic Theatre Tallaght.
Saturday 24th
PRIDE
The Pride festival has been taking place all week with loads of events on around the city (check out www.dublinpride.ie) The festival culminates on Saturday in a Pride parade, starting at 2pm. The parade will assemble at St. Stephen’s Green.
Outdoor Gig
Walking on Cars are set to perform at Dublin’s Royal Hospital Kilmainham on Saturday evening. Gates are from 6 pm. There are still a few tickets for the taking, priced at €39.50
Fun Family Day
Flavours of Fingal County Show will take place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June in Newbridge House and Farm, Donabate, from 11am – 6pm. There’ll be food, music, magicians, street entertainers, face painting, and a huge range of arts & crafts activities. A well as bouncy castle galore, the Big Dig and the Wild Air Run Admission is free. (There is a €5 car parking charge.) It’s located just off the M1, only 10 minutes from the M50
A little bit Country
Pop out to the Hot Spot Music Club in Greystones this evening for with some Outlaw Country music! Featuring songs from Texan greats like WILLIE NELSON and STEVE EARLE with special support from Greystones local gals – Two Grass. Ticket €8/€10. From 8 pm
Sunday 25th
THE Gig
Phil Collins Not Dead Yet: Live at the Aviva Stadium with Support from Mike and the Mechanics and Blondie. Doors are at 6 pm. Tickets €144. Don’t forget to tune into NOVA’s Dee Woods straight after the gig for NOVA’s Phil Collins After Party.
Relax
Sundays at Noon Concert Series continues at the Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery. Contemporary music from Japan and Ireland. Admission is free. From 12pm.
