Serena Williams has withdrawn from her French Open tennis last-16 match against Maria Sharapova. The 23-time Grand Slam winner has suffered an a pectoral injury. Williams says it's made it impossible for her to compete today.

Men's defending champion Rafa Nadal is safely through to the last-eight after a straight sets - 6-3, 6-2, 7-6 victory over Maximilian Marterer. Top-seed Simona Halep is into the quarter-finals after a straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, victory over Elise Mertens.
But second seed Caroline Wozniacki has lost out in straight sets to Daria Kasatkina.
