Shane MacGowan has been discharged from hospital, according to the music legend’s wife Victoria Mary Clarke.
The Pogues star was discharged, after spending the last few months at Dublin’s St Vincents Hospital, being treated for an an infection.
Victoria Mary Clarke had thanked fans for their support for her husband earlier this month.
“Just wanted to say a massive thanks to everyone who has been messaging me and @ShaneMacGowan and thank you @spiderstacy and Terry Woods for coming to visit him love and prayers for everyone who is struggling right now. Hang in there!”, her post read.

Last night, Victoria Mary Clarke posted a photo of Shane, alongside the caption, “Shane got out of the hospital!”.
“We are deeply and eternally grateful to all of the doctors and nurses and staff at St Vincent’s it’s the best!”, she added. “And special thanks to Tom Creagh and Brian Corscadden for your help”.

Shane MacGowan had been receiving treatment in hospital for an illness called viral encephalitis that causes swelling in the brain.
He was also admitted to hospital for this condition last year. The singer also contracted shingles, which had spread to his eye.
