The Black Sabbath frontman postponed tour dates in the UK, Europe and Australia recently after he was hospitalized with pneumonia.
According to his wife and former manager Sharon, Ozzy developed pneumonia from a bad dose of flu he got at the beginning of the year. He subsequently took a fall at home which set him back and now he has announced that all upcoming 2019 shows will have to be postponed as well.
Ozzy had the misfortune to be in a motorbike accident years ago which put him into a coma but this time around because of this hospitalization and subsequent coma, the metal rods that were fitted after the accident become dislodged.
NME reports just how unfortunate life has been for Ozzy since his release from hospital, Sharon told The Talk, that his condition following the fall was more serious due to the fact that the metal rods in his body had become dislodged and this caused a flare up of all the old injuries to his back, neck and shoulders.
Ozzy has spoken out about his recent set back and disappointments, he said: “I can’t believe I have to reschedule more tour dates. Words cannot express how frustrated, angry and depressed I am not to be able to tour right now. I’m grateful for the love and support I’m getting from my family, my band, friends and fans.”
“It’s really what’s keeping me going. The tour will be rescheduled starting from February 2020 and original tickets will be honoured for the new dates. Any festival appearances that were scheduled for 2019 will not be rescheduled.”
