Singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett has died aged 76.
Buffett released his debut album, 'Down To Earth' in 1970, and was also known for his hit single, 'Margarita'.
In a career which spanned over 60 years in the music business, Buffett was also known for other singles like 'Cheeseburger In Paradise', and 'Come Monday'.
Buffet will also be remembered for his 2003 collaboration with Alvin Jackson, 'It's Five O'Clock Somewhere', a track which topped the US Billboard Hot Country Charts for seven weeks running.
With many of his albums going gold, platinum, or even multi-platinum, Buffet was also preparing to release his latest single 'Songs You Don't Know By Heart'.
Jimmy Buffett was also inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, along with winning the Country Music Association awards.
Buffett's death was confirmed via a statement shared on his Twitter account, formerly known as X.
"Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs", the post said. "He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many".

One of the first people to pay tribute to Jimmy Buffett was actor Miles Teller.

In another tweet, Teller added, "“Where it all ends, I can’t fathom, my friends. If I knew I might drop my anchor".

Jimmy Buffett is survived by his wife Jane Slavsgol, and their three children Savannah, Sarah, and Cameron.
Buffett married Slavsgol, his second wife in 1977. His first marriage to Margie Washichek lasted from 1969 to 1972.
