Guns N’ Roses Release New Track Absurd

Loading

Slash of Guns N’ Roses recently posted a video of himself rehearsing the band’s upcoming track in Chicago. While the single currently remains untitled, many fans believe that the track will be called ‘Hard School’.

While the band did not perform the track at their September 17th concert at Wrigley Field, the band’s guitarist Slash revealed on TikTok that they did give it a spin during their soundcheck.

Rumors about the upcoming release have been circulating since a fan leaked the information after an alleged encounter with Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose backstage at an Atlantic City gig.

The song was originally recorded during sessions leading up to the release of the band’s 2008 album ‘Chinese Democracy’ but never made the final track list. At the time the song was minted with the working title ‘Jackie Chan’. Since then short clips of the song have made their way online, but the full version leaked back in 2019.

The song would be the second new release from the band in 2021 following the single ‘Absurd’ in August. ‘Absurd’ was also a track reworked from scrapped recordings for ‘Chinese Democracy’ - originally titled ‘Silkworms’. The group debuted the single at a Boston gig a few days before its official release last month.

In other news, Guns N’ Roses had their California BottleRock festival set cut short after their performance broke the event’s curfew earlier this month. The band where joined on stage by Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl for a performance of ‘Paradise City’ when the stage’s power was abruptly cut off.

The band also recently celebrated the milestone of their 1998 hit ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ surpassing a billion streams on Spotify in August.
