Although another Soundgarden album is said to be in the works, Chris Cornell has revealed that he will be releasing a new solo album sometime in September. Cornell's last foray as a solo artist Scream was meet with mixed receptions, as he employed a more electronic approach.
This time around he is going to back to basics with an acoustic record that is set to be a much more intimate affair . The album is to be titled Higher Ground and although he is more well known for rocking out with the volume up, he is equally adept at performing acoustically. Cornell has confirmed that he will be kicking off the tour on Nov. 20 in Christchurch New Zealand and promises the shows to be “unplugged, up-close and personal.”
While he has been away recording he also done some collaborating and had success appearing on The Zac Brown Band's chart topping single 'Heavy is The Head'. It seems no matter what way Cornell performs whether it's rocking out stadiums or letting his hair down in intimate venues he is one of the most versatile performers in rock.
