Steely Dan have confirmed that their 1975 album, 'Katy Lied', will be available in the LP format for the first time in more than four decades.

This album is the latest reissue as part of Geffen and UMe's campaign to reissue Steely Dan's classic ABC and MCA Records, a program which is being spearheaded by founding bandmember Donald Fagen.

Several versions of the reissue will be available, including a Bernie Grundman remastered version of the album, from the original analogue tapes for release as a limited edition premium 45 RPM version of the album on Ultra High-Quality Vinyl.

Acoustic Sounds are to release the Steely Dan reissue series on Super Audio CD, while Joe Nino-Hernes remastered the 33 1/3 RPM 180 gram vinyl version at Sterling Sound from high resolution digital files.

Original artwork will also be included with these reproductions. You can order this special reissue of Steely Dan's album 'Katy Lied' here.

The album is due for release on Jan 31 next year.

Katy Lied

Katy Lied arrived in 1975, featuring fan favourites from Steely Dan, including “Black Friday,” “Bad Sneakers,” and “Doctor Wu".

It was the first album released by the band following the departure of drummer Jim Hodder, and guitarist Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter, with founders Donald Fagan and Walter Becker opting to focus on studio work over touring.

This reissue series will cover Steely Dan's first seven albums, from Can't Buy A Thrill to The Royal Scam.

Earlier this year, Steely Dan also paid tribute to their keyboardist Jim Beard, who passed away last March aged 63.

Beard joined the band as a touring musician in 2008, playing keyboards and serving as back up vocalist for the band on tour.
