Stevie Nicks has opened up about a horrific health scare which saw her postpone several tour dates.

Nicks was forced to postpone shows, after being hospitalised with a mystery illness.

This mystery illness forced the former Fleetwood Mac singer to call of shows in Glasgow on July 6 and Manchester on July 9 as part of her ongoing Live In Concert Tour.

Stevie Nicks eventually returned to the stage in Glasgow on July 24, assuring fans that she had made a full recovery.

The show had previously been cancelled, with a statement released.

"Due to a recent leg injury requiring a minor surgical procedure that will need a few days of recovery time, Stevie Nicks' scheduled performances in Glasgow Saturday 6 July and Manchester Tuesday 9 July have been postponed".

"it just went crazy" - Nicks

According to reports, Stevie Nicks spoke to her audience about her traumatic ordeal.

"I don't know what happened. I just got this weird infection, and it just went crazy", she said.

Nicks continued: "I finally just looked at my assistant, it was like two in the morning, and said, 'I think we need to go to emergency'. She looked at me and I just said, 'I'm not kidding! I think we need to go to the hospital".

"And so our butler, this wonderful man, throws us in his BMW Sedan, and off we sped through the night to a hospital".

Earlier this month, Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood has said that he would love to "see a healing" between Nicks and former bandmate and partner Lindsey Buckingham.

Fleetwood spoke about the ongoing conflict between the former couple, saying:  “It’s no secret, it’s no title-tattle that there is a brick wall there emotionally".

He also added: “Stevie’s able to speak clearly about how she feels and doesn’t feel, as does Lindsey. But I’ll say, personally, I would love to see a healing between them – and that doesn’t have to take the shape of a tour, necessarily".
