Storm Darragh Set to Bash Ireland

Six counties have had weather warnings for wind upgrated to red.

Mayo, Clare, Galway, Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo are all under the top alert from tonight until the early hours of tomorrow.

The rest of the country, will be under an orange wind warning, also from tonight.

While a status yellow rain warning has come now into effect for a number of counties.

There's a warning that there will be damage caused by the storm, motorists are being advised to use extreme care.

The Road Safety Authority say that the storm could bring fallen power lines, debris and fallen trees in places.

The National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management met this morning on the incoming storm, and will come together again this afternoon.
