Strands of hair from the late Kurt Cobain and "blood signed" underwear from GG Allin, are among a number of items set to go under the hammer at at upcoming rock auction.

These items are to be sold by Potter & Potter Auctions, who launched Punks, Monsters, Smut & Madmen: A Countercultural Cross-Section, with absentee bids currently being accepted ahead of the live auction.

This auction will present two strands of Kurt Cobain's hair, which are currently going for over $300 at the time of writing. The hair had been reportedly obtained by barber Tessa Osbourne after she allegedly gave Cobain a haircut during Nirvana's tour of the UK in 1989.

The hair was gifted to Nicole DePolo, a close friend of Cobain, following his tragic death in 1994.

Strands of Cobain's were previously sold for $14,000 at an auction, as part of the 'Amazing Music Auction' in 2021, with the current strands expected to fetch for the same price. More on this here.

Other Items On The Agenda

Elsewhere, a pair of GG Allin's used underwear will also be sold at the auction. This item includes the late punk rocker's signature signed in blood, with an inscription on the back reading: “Suck my ass it smells”.

At the time of writing, this item's current bid stood at $425.

Other items include original pieces by The Simpsons' Matt Groening and graffiti artist, Keith Haring, an unused Sex Pistols concert ticket from 1978, relics from the iconic CBGB club, a signed CD from Church of Satan founder Anton LaVey, as well as a billiards table, which was once owned by Steve Albini.

This live auction takes place next Friday (March 7) at 12am GMT.
