Sydney Sweeney has addressed claims that she was “objectified” in the music video for the Rolling Stones’ track, ‘Angry’.
Sweeney’s cameo in this music video drew heavy criticism from former Blur lead singer Damon Albarn, who blasted Mick Jagger and co for having the actress pose on top of a moving car, while wearing a tight-fitted leather top, with several close ups of her cleavage.
“I listened to their new song and watched this horrible music video showing them at different stages of their lives on billboards. And this young woman objectified. What the hell is this? There’s something completely disconnected”, Albarn said of the song earlier this month.
Albarn also embarked on several rants about the Rolling Stones album ‘Hackney Diamonds’, which includes ‘Angry’.

“cool and iconic”
However, ‘Euphoria’ actress Sydney Sweeney has broken her silence on the issue.
On featuring in a Rolling Stones music video, Sweeney described the experience as “cool and iconic”.
“I felt hot”, she said. “I picked my own outfit out of racks and racks of clothes. I felt so good in it”.
Sweeney feels that expressing her sexuality is a form of empowerment.
“One of the questions I get is, ‘Are you a feminist?’” she said. “I find empowerment through embracing the body that I have. That’s sexy and strong, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it”.
Speaking of Rolling Stones music videos, another actor Nicholas Hoult (About A Boy & X Men Files), featured in the band’ video for their single ‘Mess It Up’, which also includes footage of their late drummer Charlie Watts.
“We had just started working on those tracks a few years ago, before Covid shut everything down”, Rolling Stones’ guitarist Keith Richards said.
“We left Charlie’s tracks as they were and re-did the vocals and everything else with Andy Watt. As soon as you hear that snare, you know it’s him”.
