Guns N Roses Support Bill For Slane 2017 Announced!
Guns N’ Roses hotly anticipated return to Ireland is almost upon us. Axl, Slash & Co. are set to headline Slane 2017 this summer as part of their Not In This Lifetime tour.The band will play the Co. Meath venue for the first time since 1992. This summer’s gig, which sold out in 24 hours, will take place on Saturday May 27, 2017. It’s hard to believe it was 25 years ago that Guns’ N Roses played Slane! The support bill for next’s month’s gig has now been revealed and it’s a cracker.

Athy duo Picture This have been awarded the Choice Music Song of the Year accolade for their track ‘Take My Hand’. The Awards which took place last night at Vicar Street were hosted by Eoghan McDermott. The award is especially meaningful for Picture This as it’s decided by the public showing the huge amount of support the band have amassed for such a new group.

The Joshua Tree is the fifth studio album by U2, released on the 9th of March, 1987. It was the album that launched the band into the spotlight with their three massive hit singles 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For', 'Where The Streets have No Name' & 'With or Without You'. Using the textured sonics of The Unforgettable Fire as a basis, U2 expanded those innovations by scaling back the songs to a personal setting and adding a grittier attack for its follow-up, The Joshua Tree. It's a move that returns them to the sweeping, anthemic rock of War, but if War was an exploding political bomb, The Joshua Tree is a journey through its aftermath, trying to find sense and hope in the desperation.

Alt-J Announce New Album Relaxer & Share New Song “3WW”
Alt-J have announced a new album called Relaxer, which is out June 9 via Canvasback Music. Relaxer is the follow-up to the band’s 2014 album, This Is All Yours. The announcement is accompanied by a new track called “3WW.” Check it out here. Their third album follows a string of successes surrounding their previous releases. Their debut album An Awesome Wave won the Mercury Music Prize in 2012. They were also nominated for three Brit Awards (British Breakthrough Act, British Album of the Year and British Group of the Year). This Is All Yours received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Alternative Music Album at the 57th Grammy Awards. During their 2015 tour, the band sold out Madison Square Garden.
Kings Of Leon Share Gory Fan Story
Kings of Leon have revealed that they were once asked to sign a fan’s newly-broken arm. The band – made up of brothers Caleb, Nathan,Jared Followill, and their cousin Matthew Followill shared the story during a recent interview with Radio X. Asked by host Gordon Smart to describe the maddest thing they have ever seen on stage, Caleb Followill replied, “We’ve seen somebody come over the front with a badly broken arm.”
The Blades Announce Whelan’s Gig
Dublin trio, The Blades are set to play Whelan’s next month. MCD confirmed via twitter that Paul Cleary, Brian Foley and Jake Reilly will play the Wexford Street venue Friday, March 31st.
