"I'm still a member of Stone Temple Pilots!" singer insists.
This comes despite the other members of the band releasing a statement tendering his "termination" from the group last week.
Yet the former Velvet Revolver singer says it is business as usual, and although there are problems within the band, no-one is leaving.
"Nobody in the band can be fired. No one’s ever fired anybody, and no one’s ever quit the band. We really have been together a long time, and I’m proud of that. I really do like those guys. It hurts my feelings when we aren’t getting along because I view them as family...Behind the scenes it’s really not anything different than what was going on before" said Weiland.
Reacting last week by saying his lawyers would sort it out, Weiland has changed his tune to say that the escapade was "a whole thing to boost ticket sales."

Stone Temple Pilots publicly oust their singer
The band posted the news online yesterday, without providing any reasons.
However it seems Weiland was not going to take the news lying down, promptly posting his response:
"I learned of my supposed "termination” from Stone Temple Pilots this morning by reading about it in the press. Not sure how I can be ‘terminated’ from a band that I founded, fronted and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but that’s something for the lawyers to figure out. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to seeing all of my fans on my solo tour which starts this Friday.”
