Taylor Swift's recently concluded Eras Tour grossed over $2 billion in ticket sales, it has been reported.
According to media outlets, the tour which reached $2,077,618,725 in sales to be precise, has smashed the previous record which was held by Coldplay for their Music Of The Spheres tour from the previous Summer, which passed the $1 billion mark.
Overall, Taylor Swift's Eras Tour sold 10,168,008 tickets, coming to an average ticket price of £204.
Following this, Taylor Swift has generously given the $197 million in bonuses to crew members from the tour, including truck drivers, caterers, merchandise team, lighting, production staff and assistants.
This long list of beneficiaries of this bonus also includes carpenters, band members, dancers, security personnel, pyrotechnics, choreographers, hair stylists, riggers, make-up artists, physical therapists, wardrobe stylists, as well as members of her video team.
Speaking about this, Mike Scherkenbach who is in charge of Shomotion, the concert transportation behind Taylor Swift's Eras concerts, outlined what these bonuses will mean to the individuals.
“She’s giving a sum of money that is life-changing for these people,” Scherkenbach said.
“A lot of these drivers are not homeowners, and a lump sum like this gives you the ability to put a down payment on a home. That’s what makes me really happy. That generosity is a game changer for these people".
This marvellous act of kindness is also not the first time that Taylor Swift has looked after her crew members on tour.
Earlier this Summer, the singer also reportedly gave out over $55 million to crew members from the tour.
