A star of Silicon Valley has issued an damning verdict on Ireland in the context of whether his organisation will continue to expand its operations here.
Billionaire Matthew Prince, CEO of Cloudflare, which has data centres in Dublin and Cork, says the locals here are ”cold and unwelcoming.”
He says Irish people are “not welcoming” and that ”Ireland isn’t a country people would want to move to.”
Asked as to whether he would consider expanding Cloudflare’s operations here, he provided a stark response “No one wants to live in Ireland unless they’re Irish.”
He didn’t spare the food here either or the weather (which he admitted isn’t really in our favour or our control.) His damning verdicts on our collective inhospitably went down badly, funnily enough!
No one wants to live in Ireland unless they’re Irish. Lisbon is easy to attract people to, but that assumed the government wasn’t incompetent. So perhaps we’re looking around again.

I wish you no ill will, but I’d be realistic about your strengths and weaknesses. You are not a very welcoming community to outsiders. And the weather and food suck. Hopefully you can fix 2/3. And then, maybe, global warming your friend.
