Gardaí in Kildare are appealing to the public for information following a serious assault on a teenager in Rathangan Village, County Kildare.
A 19-year-old male was punched by another male when getting into a taxi, the force of the punch causing the youth to fall backwards and hit the roadway.
He was then taken by ambulance to Naas General Hospital where he is said to be in a serious condition.
A female was also assaulted in the incident which took place on Wednesday 27th December at 1.30am, however her injuries are described as minor.
The scene was preserved for a forensic examination, however, no arrests have been made and investigating Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses, in particular those who were on the Main Street area between 1am and 2am.
