Tesco has announced it’s taking on 1,150 new staff, 450 of those roles will be permanent.
700 temporary jobs are being created to help the company deal with demand this Christmas.
Tesco recently opened 10 new click and collect sites at Liffey Valley in Dublin, Coonagh in Co Limerick and Ballincollig in Co Cork.
Tesco Ireland said:
“The new roles will be available in many areas of the business including assembly and fulfilment of customer orders for online delivery. Other jobs include drivers, customer assistants, plus a variety of other roles.”
Taoiseach Micheal Martin has welcomed this, saying it’s providing some much needed good news.
His party colleague TD Padraig O’Sullivan is delighted that 120 of the permanent roles will be based in Cork.
