The Doors' John Densmore paid tribute to the 'gifted' late actor, Val Kilmer, who passed away yesterday aged 65.
Kilmer, known for his role as the cocky Iceman in Top Gun, as well as Batman Forever, also earned critical acclaim for his portrayal of the later Doors singer, Jim Morrison in the 1991 biopic, The Doors. The film saw Kilmer star alongside Meg Ryan, who played Jim Morrison's girlfriend, Pamela Courson.
The film also saw John Densmore played by Kevin Dillon, Kyle MacLachlan play keyboardist Ray Manzarek, while guitarist Robby Krieger was portrayed by Frank Whaley. The film grossed $34 million in the US, upon its release.
