The Inbetweeners' pair James Buckley and Joe Thomas are to play Oasis' pair Liam and Noel Gallagher in a mock reunion for Comic Relief.

Buckley and Thomas, known for playing Jay Cartwright and Simon Cooper in the much loved British sitcom, will play the rock and roll brothers as part of an Oasis parody for Comic Relief. This was announced amid months of speculation that Comic Relief were planning something Oasis related.

"honoured to be asked"

Prior to this, Buckley and Thomas had been keeping fans on their toes, having shared a snap of themselves, appearing to be working on set, with Buckley adding the caption: "Don't call it a comeback".

Buckley also added that he was “honoured to be asked” to be a part of the sketch, adding: “Of course, being a huge Oasis fan, getting to be Liam for the day was a dream come true". See this post in full here.

Joe Thomas also revealed that he had grown up watching Comic Relief, adding that the “big sketch” was always being a highlight of the night,” so it’s both thrilling and nerve-wracking to be a part of it”.

This sketch will take place on Friday March 21, as part of the Red Nose Day broadcast at 7pm on BBC One.

Fans will also have the chance to win two VIP tickets for Wembley Stadium's Royal Box for Oasis' reunion show on Saturday August 2. This also includes a guitar signed by Noel and Liam, and other tour merchandise.
