The Killers paused last night’s concert in London to watch on as England snatched victory late on in their Euro 2024 semi final against the Netherlands with the audience.
Brandon Flowers and co were performing at London’s 02 Arena at their penultimate show from their six date residency, when they paused half way through to watch the game.
And the Three Lions supporters were up in arms after Ollie Watkins scored the winning goal in second half stoppage time to grab a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands in the semi final, securing a place in Sunday’s decider against Spain.
“Tonight we played for England!”- says The Killers
The Killers were ten songs into their performance, when they paused their show to watch the clashing Euros semi final.
England grabbed a 2-1 win, with Harry Kane’s first half penalty cancelling out an earlier Xavier Simons strike for the Dutch, before Watkins’ late intervention.
Following the final whistle, red and white streamers were fired into the air, with the crowd sent into a frenzy, as the Killers marked this win with a live performance of ‘Mr Brightside’.
Sharing a series of photos from this show on their X account, The Killers wrote “Tonight we played for England”, alongside an emoji show the English logo. Check that out here.
