As you know, Def Leppard have taken over the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas for their “VIVA Hysteria!” residency, fans can also check out drummer Rick Allen’s fine art exhibit in the city.
Rick spoke with Las Vegas’ FOX5 TV about his debut collection, “Electric Hand: Rhythm + Change”, which is showing at the Martin Lawrence Galleries at the Forum Shops in Sin City until April 10.
Allen is translating rhythm into a visual art medium through an extensive process involving drumbeat, light, photography, and graphic design. The result is a collection of abstract imagery built directly from Rick’s rhythmic prowess. And as one of the pioneers in this new medium, Allen is holding true to a lifetime of breaking barriers and new ground.
Def Leppard continue their “VIVA! Hysteria” shows through to April 13.
