Arguably the most emotional episode of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is the one called, “Papa’s Got a Brand New Excuse”.
It’s a heartfelt slice of sitcom gold that ends with a moving monologue by Will Smith as The Fresh Prince to Uncle Phil played by the late James Avery. The Fresh Prince speaks of his disappointment in his father holding back the tears in a tirade against his absentee dad.
