Gardai have let three people go without charge following their arrest after firearms were discovered in postal packages from the America.
The people were held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Investigations are continuing.
A number of guns destined for Ireland from the United States were intercepted by gardaí.
It was a joint operation between the Special Crime Operations branch of the force and American Homeland Security Investigations.
The firearms in question were three Glock handguns and they were found in postal packages, after the detection of automatic weapons due to be delivered to locations in Dublin city and county.
Cannabis and Cocaine were found during the search of three addresses in Stepaside, Carrickmines and Newcastle, Co. Dublin yesterday morning.
The people aged 26, 27 and 38 were arrested and were questioned at a number of Garda Stations in the city.
