The Rolling Stones have added backing singer and Tina Turner star Chanel Haynes to their touring line up for next year.
Haynes and the Rolling Stones have got history, with the singer having joined Mick Jagger and co on stage in 2022.
The singer also enjoyed a stint starring as the great Tina Turner in London’s stage production of Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.
Speaking last year, Haynes said that she was incredibly proud to have been given the chance to portray the late singer, especially considering that Turner helped to choose the cast.
“Her blessing was such a gift to me,” Haynes said previously. “Every performance I did, it was gratitude to her. It was honoring her since she chose me”.
“huge opportunity”
That same year also saw Haynes asked to join the Rolling Stones at a concert in Milan, after original backing singer Sasha Allen left the 60th anniversary tour, which saw Haynes leave the Tina Turner production.
“She ended up losing her job on the production because she didn’t want to miss out on the huge opportunity of singing live with The Stones,” a source said at the time.
They added, “Chanel has now been booked as one of their backing singers [again] and will be going out on tour with them across America in the spring.”
“It means the world to her and the band were just pleased they could help her out”.
Haynes Back Again
Following this, Chanel Haynes has since confirmed that she will once again accompany the Rolling Stones on stage for their upcoming tour of the US in 2024, which begins in April.
Taking to Instagram, Haynes also shared of the band’s upcoming tour schedule, which will include shows in Houston, Las Vegas, Orlando, Atlanta, Cleveland, Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles to name a few.
