Upon release in 2014, the film was met with an amazing response from critics, grossing over $370.5 million worldwide during its theatrical run. Its success was only slightly dampened by the release of John Greens ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ at around the same time. Nevertheless, Edge of Tomorrow is still remembered fondly as a fantastic film with a very compelling premise and gritty action.
Rumours of a sequel to the sci-fi action thriller are also circling as Cruise forms a partnership with Warner Brothers to develop and produce films throughout the rest of 2024. With a possible second instalment on the horizon, ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ is definitely worth a rewatch!
