A dispute over Tom Petty’s estate between his widow and his daughters has been settled. The dispute had been raging on all this year.
According to CoS, "Each of them sincerely regrets that in their intense grief over Tom’s tragic death, actions were taken that were hurtful to one another".
Petty died in 2017 and following his death, Dana York, his widow elected to be in charge of his will.
However, Petty’s two daughters Annakim Violette and Adria Petty, both from a previous marriage entered into a battle for the rights to their legendary father’s catalogue and estate.
As a result, Dana was subject to a $5 million dollar suit filed by both sisters earlier this year. However, both parties have “resolved their differences and dismissed all litigation matters.”
Further reports say that “each of them sincerely regrets that in their intense grief over Tom’s tragic death, actions were taken that were hurtful to one another.”
Both parties are now working together to establish the Tom Petty Legacy, LLC, which is said to be “committed to honouring Tom’s voice, music, integrity and his charitable spirit.”
They all will under this agreement have “equal standing” with regards to Petty’s legacy and estate, and they vow to “work together on all future endeavours.”
