A box set of Tom Petty‘s unreleased work has been announced. It’s called ‘American Treasure’ and will include 4 CDs containing 60 tracks. The rock legend tragically died from an accidental drug overdose on October 2nd, 2017 at the age of just 66.
The boxset will comprise of both live and studio material from Petty’s career, curated by Petty’s wife Dana York, daughter Adria, as well as bandmate Mike Campbell, and fellow collaborator Ryan Ulate. It will also feature covers of Petty’s songs by other artists. A 1982, unreleased track ‘Keep a Little Soul’ was played on SiriusXM last night July 10th as a preview of the box set.
The collection is scheduled for release on September 28th and it’s rumoured a countdown clock on Petty’s website will reveal more about the release once it runs out.
