Very early on this year Tool frontman, Maynard James Keenan confirmed that their latest record since 2006’s 10,000 Days would finally be released in 2019. According to CoS, drummer with the band Danny Carey has confirmed that the follow-up album will finally drop in mid-April.
Carey was pressured by a fan for an update at an autograph signing in California over the weekend. When questioned if there was any news on the album, the drummer responded, “Yeah, it’s gonna be out in mid-April. That’s the plan, anyway.”
According to Metal Injection, Gabriel Shaffer, a long-standing friend of the band, took to Instagram to share that he had listened to the new Tool album in full, saying,
“Still recovering from last nights hang in Hollywood at the loft. All I can say is I heard something from start to finish, that a number of us have been waiting to hear for over 10 years now. I can confirm it is worth every bit of the wait. The main question is are we worthy of it? #tool”
