Since Tool’s last album, 10,000 Days, released over 13 years ago, fans have been speculating when the group might finally release new material.
Now, two new live songs have been shared and are streaming at the bottom of the page.
At roughly this same time last year, the band shared an excerpt of a new song called ‘Descending’. The track was used for a trailer to promote their upcoming music clinics.
Then things went quiet concerning any new material. Tone Deaf recently revealed that a fresh bit of music had been shared by guitarist Adam Jones.
However, on Saturday night, May 5th the band shared two new tracks, ‘Descending’ and ‘Invincible’. Check them out below!
As to when the new Tool album will arrive? In February, frontman Maynard James Keenan tweeted another clue as to how Tool’s new album is coming along saying a “best ballpark guess” on the release date “as somewhere between Mid May and Mid July.”
The NME reports that fans were given the date August 30 at a show in Birmingham, Alabama on May 7th. A video screen flashed the date “August 30th” during a brief intermission.
Lead singer, Maynard James Keenan reportedly told fans to share the news via social media and said: “Alright everyone take out your phones, security stand down and let these fuckers do whatever it is with their phones.”
