Apparently classic rock is still all the rage, as three classic rock acts have topped Pollstar’s list of top-earning tour performers of 2013 thus far. Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and the Rolling Stones make up the top three acts on Pollstar’s newly-released list of the Top 100 Worldwide Tours of the first half of 2013. The rankings are based on the gross amount of funds each tour produced from January 1 to June 30.Pollstar’s highest grossing touring acts of 2013 includes Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones
Bon Jovi comes in at No. 1 on the tally, with a total of $142.1 million in gross revenue and an average ticket price of $95.60. Meanwhile, Springsteen and the E Street Band are No. 2 on the list with a gross amount of $103.9 million. The Rolling Stones round out the top 3 with $87.7 million.
Other classic rock acts who made it onto Pollstar’s list include Fleetwood Mac (N. 9 on the tally with $58.1 million), Paul McCartney (who landed No. 16 with $43.5 million), Elton John (No. 21 with $30.7 million), Eric Clapton (No. 24 with $28.4 million) and the Who (No. 22 with $23.5 million).
Some alternative acts also made the list, including Depeche Mode (No. 7 with $60.9 million), the Killers (No. 25 with $28.3 million), Muse (No. 30 with $25.1 million) and the Cure (No. 41 with 18.3 million)
