Bray Summerfest takes place in Co. Wicklow this weekend and runs on until Monday 5th of August… and Radio Nova will be there live this Sunday for the Bray Air Display.
This event will bring additional traffic to Bray and delays are likely. To facilitate it, Strand Rd in Bray will be closed to vehicles from 1pm to 7pm on Sunday between Quinnsboro Rd and Albert Avenue.
The following traffic restrictions will also be in place:
From midday to 7pm on Sunday 21st July, restrictions will be in place east of Main St and Vevay Rd from Seapoint Rd to Newcourt Rd.
Local access to Quinnsboro Rd will be maintained.
Access to the car park at St Thomas’s School will be available via Novara Avenue.
Car Parking:
Free parking to the general public attending the air display will be provided at the following locations:
• Florence Rd Car Park
• Presentation School, Putland Rd.
• St Thomas School on Novara Avenue.
• Holy Redeemer Church Car Park on Herbert Rd.
• Old Dell Site at Boghall Rd / Vevay Rd.
• Carisle Grounds, Seymour Rd.
When the Dell site is full cars will be allowed to park on the bus lane inbound on Southern Cross Rd.
Shuttle Bus Service:
A free shuttle service will operate from the car park at the Dell site at Boghall Rd. Pick up point will be located just north of the Vevay Rd/ Boghall Rd Jct. Buses will drop passengers off at Convent Avenue and will operate on a circuit from Southern Cross Rd, Vevay Rd, Putland Rd, Meath Rd, Convent Avenue, Sidmonton Rd, Putland Rd, Vevay Rd and Southern Cross Rd. Pick up points after the event will be at Meath Rd.
Access Routes:
To avoid traffic congestion at the northern end of the town before the event, traffic approaching Bray from the M50 will be directed by signage to exit at J7 Bray South (Southern Cross Rd).
Traffic approaching Bray from the Greystones and Southern Cross Rd will be directed via signage and barriers to park in the Presentation College on Putland Rd. Access down Newcourt Rd and Putland Rd will be restricted to residents only.
Traffic coming into Bray town centre from Killarney Rd will be directed to car parks at the back of the Holy Redeemer Church on Herbert Rd and at St Thomas’s School on Novara Avenue.
Traffic coming into Bray for the air show from Castle St will be directed to turn left on to Novara Avenue and park in St Thomas School.
From 7am on Sunday, parking will be restricted in the following areas:
• Seapoint Rd (Emergency Route)
• Putland Rd from Strand Rd to Sidmonton Rd. (Emergency Route)
• Meath Rd (West Side from Putland Rd to Convent Avenue)
• Convent Avenue (East Side) from Sidmonton Rd to Meath Rd
