The Board of Peter McVerry Trust has confirmed the appointment of Danny McLoughlin as interim CEO.
His appointment comes following the resignation of Francis Doherty this week, who claimed governance failings brought the organisation to the brink of financial collapse.
The Charities Regulator has appointed inspectors to conduct an investigation into the organisation, while the charity says its focus remains on its future.
The Minister for Housing Darragh O’Brien said on Thursday that the Board of the Peter McVerry Trust has not asked for a bailout.
Danny McLoughlin has over 30 years management and leadership experience in local government.
He most recently served as chief executive of South Dublin County Council which has 16,000 homes under management.
He has also been a member of numerous housing fora including chairperson of the Dublin housing supply coordination taskforce.
