Radio Nova was the BIG winner at The IMRO Radio Awards 2024 held at the Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny last night.
‘Nova Guestlist’ presenter, Kieran McGuinness, won back to back GOLD awards, being named ‘Specialist Broadcaster of the Year’ for two years in a row and ‘Morning Glory with PJ Gallagher and Jim McCabe’ was crowned the BEST Breakfast show in the country with another GOLD trophy! It’s the third time that the duo have won Gold for Best Breakfast show.
Meanwhile, ‘The Trashcan Sinatras’ documentary by journalist Ken Sweeney from The Irish Sun picked up a Silver award for ‘Music, Arts & Culture Documentary’, while we won Bronze for ‘Station imaging’; station imaging refers to jingles, idents, voiceovers and all pre-produced elements used to define the ‘station sound’ and brand position. A station’s identity package is in essence what a station says about itself. In addition, our short feature ‘The Greatest Gender Bender of Music’, produced by Clint Drieberg, won Bronze.
