As incendiary as ever Liam Gallagher brazenly dismissed criticism over the Oasis ticketing fiasco with a series of tweets, even telling one fan to “shut up”.

The singer broke his recent social media exile after the UK’s competition watchdog began an investigation into Ticketmaster’s handling of ticket sales, including how “dynamic pricing” adjusted prices.

The Gallagher’s apparent reconciliation brought about fevered excitement before last weekend’s outrage exploded both here and in the UK after prices for their reunion shows increased without warning.

On Friday morning, Liam posted on X: “OASIS are back your welcome and I hear there ATTITUDE STINKS good to know something’s never change.”

An X user who said he “didn’t expect [Oasis] to rip off the fans as much as they have done”, Gallagher’s light touch reply was to tell them to “SHUTUP”.

The 51-year-old told others how he was feeling. He replied: ”SMUG AS F*** I told you all we were gonna get back together 1 fine day.”

Liam was also asked how his mother, Peggy, felt about Noel and himself reuniting 15 years after their acrimonious split in 2009.

She’s gutted she couldn’t get a ticket,” he said in apparent jest.

Taking the bait, another person questioned why he didn’t give her a free ticket, he said: “Free don’t be silly”, dismissing the person who literally asked for that reply!

The band have previously said they had not known dynamic pricing would be used:

In a statement “Inevitably interest in this tour is so overwhelming that it’s impossible to schedule enough shows to fulfil public demand,” they said. “As for the well-reported complaints many buyers had over the operation of Ticketmaster’s dynamic ticketing: it needs to be made clear that Oasis leave decisions on ticketing and pricing entirely to their promoters and management, and at no time had any awareness that dynamic pricing was going to be used.”

Amid the fevered fan frustration, one of Liam’s old tweets from 2017 resurfaced, showing up his obvious gaslighting this time, after being exposed for criticising Noel’s expensive US tour tickets with High Flying Birds.

At the time he wrote: “350 dollars to go and see rkid in USA what a c*** when will it all stop as you were LG x.”
