U2 recently played a rare ‘War’ classic for the first time in over 26 years. On Monday the 27th, U2 played their sixth show of their eight show run at the “World’s Most Famous Arena”, Madison Square Garden.
The song in question was the second single to be released off their 1983 breakthrough album War. They played ‘Two Hearts Beats As One’ which U2 last played at The Point in 1989 (their infamous last gig before they recorded Achtung Baby).
When the song was released it was No. 2 in Ireland and it was also a Top 20 hit in the UK. It seems that U2 are going back on this tour after recently playing ‘October’ from their second album of the same name. They also recently played ‘Gloria’ from the same album for the first time in 10 years at a gig in Chicago.
The band’s marathon 8 night stint at Madison Square Garden will come to an end tomorrow night on July 31st. It will see the end of the North American leg of their tour, with the European leg staring In September later this year.
