In a significant development aimed at de-escalating the ongoing conflict with Russia, Ukraine has endorsed a U.S. proposal for a 30-day general ceasefire. This agreement, reached during talks in Saudi Arabia, also includes the United States lifting restrictions on military aid and intelligence sharing to Ukraine.

The negotiations, held in Jeddah, were attended by high-level officials from both nations, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak. The discussions aimed to repair strained relations and address the ongoing war

A notable outcome of the talks is the commitment to finalize "as soon as possible" a deal concerning Ukrainian mineral resources. This agreement is expected to bolster Ukraine's economy and strengthen its strategic partnership with the United States.

Secretary Rubio praised Ukraine's acceptance of the ceasefire proposal as a positive step toward peace. He stressed that the responsibility now lies with Moscow to respond constructively, stating that the "ball is now in Moscow's court."
