Van Morrison has announced a new album, ‘New Arrangements And Duets’.

The Real Real Gone singer will release this album on September 27 this year, and arriving in between a set of upcoming live shows later this year.

‘New Arrangements And Duets’ will consist of unreleased material from Morrison, with the big band tracks recorded in 2014.

Paul Moran and Chris White have also chosen these tracks that they had specifically wanted to create big band arrangements for.

The album will also include collaborations with artists such as Joss Stone, Willie Nelson, Curtis Stigers, and Kurt Elling. These songs were recorded between 2018 and 2019.

It will also feature a new version of Morrison’s 2002 single ‘Choppin Wood’ with a big band, as a tribute to his late father.

“gather dust in some archive”

Confirming this news regarding his new album, Van Morrison posted this message via Instagram.

“This album represents a small percentage of the huge amount of unreleased material we are hoping to roll out in the near future, rather than letting it gather dust in some archive”, he wrote. See that post in full here.
