The world said it’s goodbyes to Aretha Franklin yesterday with a star-packed funeral ceremony at Detroit’s Greater Grace Temple.
Bishop Charles H. Ellis III oversaw the ceremony, which saw speeches given by Rev. Jesse Jackson, Smokey Robinson and former President Bill Clinton, as well as the homilies, performances were given by likes of Ariana Grande, Chaka Khan, and Stevie Wonder. It was a huge day that will go down in memory.
However, shortly after trouble began brewing on Twitter, where one Tweeter has shared a clip of Bishop Ellis III getting excessively friendly with pop singer Ariana Grande. The footage below has many fans in shock and they are outraged. Feminist author Mona Eltahaway expressed her anger at the grabby Bishop and tweeted, “I don’t care what you think about Ariana Grande, her music or her dress. This is wrong. That bishop’s hand should not be on her breast: I just saw this because I’ve been working and not watching.”

To make things worse, the bishop then mocked Grande’s name, saying to those assembled, “I’ve got to apologize because I have to brush up. When I saw Ariana Grande on the program, I thought that was a new something at Taco Bell.”
In light of the scandal, #RespectAriana has begun trending across Twitter.
