Alanis Morissette covered Wham!'s Christmas favourite 'Last Christmas' on a recent episode of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

This comes as Morissette released her latest festive EP, 'Last Christmas' last month, and includes covers of classics like 'A Little Drummer Boy', as well as John Lennon's 'Happy Xmas (War Is Over)'.

Check out this cover of 'Last Christmas' below.

The chat with Fallon also saw Morissette speak about her induction into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, where she was hailed by Olivia Rodrigo for changing the way that people view song-writing.

“In some ways, I feel like I gave permission inadvertently. I was writing in a vacuum as one does when they’re writing alone or collaborating", Morissette told Fallon.

"I remember Glen Ballard turning to me and said ‘Do you know what’s going on here?’ and I said ‘no’. So I was pretty clueless about the wildness that was to come".

"She's the greatest" - Morissette On Joan Jett

Elsewhere, Alanis Morissette was also full of praise for another female rocker in the form of Joan Jett, having confirmed a major US Tour, supported by the 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll' hitmaker next year.

“She’s the greatest. I’m terrified because there might actually be a connection and a friendship. I’m looking forward to kumbaya", Morissette said of Jett.

Named the 'Triple Moon' tour, the run of shows begin on 9 June in Phoenix, before finishing off in California on August 10.
