Billy Joel invited iconic drummer Jason Bonham on stage during his New Years Eve concert to perform Led Zeppelin’s ‘Whole Lotta Love’.

Joel performed a very special concert at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on New Years Eve. And to mark the occasion the legendary singer joined forces with Jason Bonham, the son of famous Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, to perform one of the band's most famous songs.

Jason Bonham and his band Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening actually opened for concert show earlier that evening before the drummer was brought back on stage in the middle of Joels set.

“We’re going to bring a guest onstage and do this next song,” The 75-year-old told the audience. “We have fun playing this, especially with this guy. Please welcome Jason Bonham.”

“You all know this song. It’s not a piano song.” the singer joked.

You can watch their performance here:

Joel performed all of his most memorable songs throughout the night including ‘Piano Man’, ‘Uptown Girl’, and ‘We Didn’t Start The Fire’, as well as a cover of Rolling Stone’s ‘Start Me Up’.  At the stroke of midnight, he shared a kiss with his wife Alexis Roderick on stage.

In July of 2024 Billy Joel wrapped up his decade-long Madison Square Garden residency which consisted of over 150 sold-out shows. The music icon also released ‘Turn The Lights Back On’, his first new song since 2007.
