Last night, David Gilmour performed his first live show in 5 years at an open mic night at an East Sussex pub.
Gilmour performed at The Neptune Live Music Bar in Hove, East Sussex, alongside his daughter Romany Gilmour on stage.
This performance also comes a matter of weeks before the guitarist takes to the stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall for his six show residency.
The residency will see the musician support his latest album ‘Luck and Strange’, which arrived earlier this month. More on this from Nova here.
Gilmour “very much enjoyed crashing”
Performing his first live show since the 2020 tribute concert for Fleetwood Mac’s Peter Green at the London Palladium, David Gilmour reacted to the show on X.
The former Pink Floyd guitarist said that he “very much enjoyed crashing” his daughter’s gig at the pub “after finishing tour rehearsals”.
This post also featured a video, where Romany can be heard asking if her father would like to “come and upstage me”, before they performed Pink Floyd’s 1975 track ‘Wish You Were Here’ together. See this video here.
The Neptune Live Music Bar also posted on Instagram, hailing David and Romany for an “electrifying evening”.
Back in August, David Gilmour also spoke about his latest album, ‘Luck And Strange’, comparing it to Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’. More on this from Nova here.
