Kermit the Frog had some very special guests up on stage during a surprise set at the 2019 Newport Folk Festival last Sunday, July 28th.
The impromptu appearance by the revered Muppet lead to Kermit jamming out the song “Rainbow Connection” on his banjo.

The green troubador was backed by a line up that comprised of former Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss.
Kermit got the crowd going as My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James also joined the performance. Adorned in a blue jacket festooned with shooting stars on the second verse of the much-loved tune.
Kermit thanked fans on Twitter:
